Festival must-do’s before summers out…

festival3

With the mercury hitting more lows than highs this summer, one thing that’s been consistently hot this season is the UK festival scene. The original staycation, the festival vibe brings strangers together in a shared love of music, dance and other wacky, outrageous activities. With classics like Glastonbury having been and gone in all its muddy glory, we’ve compiled our Top 5 festivals still to come, be it dirty weekenders or more civilised one-dayers. Miss them and miss out!!

V Festival 22nd-23rd August @ Hylands Park

With the ever popular acts featuring on the many stages, from MGMT to Tayor Swift, McFly to Pete Doherty, Will Young to N-Dubz, you are guaranteed one hot weekend at this explosive event.

Bestival 11th-13th September @ Robin Hill Country Park

Bringing a close to the festival season, the free and easy vibe that swirls about the place has made this a firm must-do of the circuit. With live acts and DJs featured equally on the bill, it’s got a great balance not offered by other festivals.

Get Loaded 30th August @ Clapham Common

Headlined by Orbital and having just added knomo favourite VV Brown, this is the ideal Londoner festival – seriously cool but easy to get home and shower at the end of it all.

Creamfields 29th-30th August @ Daresbury Estate

The veteran of dance festivals with legends like Pete Tong, Paul Van Dyk and Judge Jules alongside Dizzee Rascal and Too Many Djs, this is a festival where a wide selection allows you to have an individually tailored weekend according to your musical preferences.

Leeds Festival 28th-30th August Bramham Park

A quickie train journey from central London gets you a performance from Arctic Monkeys, the in demand Little Boots and a very different mood from anything down south. Northeners seem to take their dedication to music that bit more seriously and the stages saved for up-and-coming/alternative artists broadens your music horizons all in a few days.
