knomo support ‘Women in the City’ Awards

27Nov09-1

On 27th November 2009, for the 4 year running, knomo supported the annual ‘Women in the City’ awards, held at Plaisterers Hall, next to the rather grand ’London Wall’ (that famously kept The Great Fire of London from eradicating London altogether). The venue is ideal for such an opulent event, catering for 370 of The City’s finest female workers, from bankers to accountants and insurance execs to property professionals. knomo provide prizes for the winners of the various awards and this year were invited to set-up shop at the event to discuss the attendees business bag needs…

As long-time supporters to the WIC awards, knomo were invited to display a number of new styles for the attendees to peruse while enjoying the lavish champagne reception. During the reception guests are invited to take mix-and-mingle cards that encourage networking (each participant must find a delegate to sign each of the questions on the card)  The reception was followed by lunch in the main hall and the extra-special awards ceremony for outstanding achievement. Winners receive their very own knomo bag (Rubi in grey croc shown below) and Austin Reed shirt and the Woman of Achievement and the Lifetime Achievement winner also being awarded an executive training course at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business  and a holiday abroad at the luxurious Masseria San Domenica hotel in Puglia, Italy, respectively.

The Awards recognise excellence and celebrate the achievements of senior and partner-level professional women working in the City of London, Canary Wharf, and Mayfair. As the only award scheme of its kind, the Women in the City awards are highly-sought after and in addition to highlighting professional women, the Women in the City organisation organises activites for support and further learning throughout the year. Going into 2010, knomo are proud to be sponsors for the 5th year; watch this space ladies!

During the reception ladies are invited to take mix-and-mingle cards that encourage networking (each participant must find a delegate to sign each of the questions on the card)
