As London Fashion Week hit earlier this week showcasing some of the hottest new trends for Spring/Summer 2011, we took to the streets to check out our customers’ style and see which bags are most popular in good ol’ London town.

We found a huge variety of looks and styles proving that our customers certainly cant be pigeon-holed.  The range of knomo bags was similarly eclectic, from cute Lima pouches for women to stylish leather Warwick briefcases for men. The third annual Specsavers everywoman in Retail Awards took place last night and knomo were proud to support the event. The awards were hosted by the oh-so-fabulous Gok Wan (of ‘Gok’s Fashion Fix’ fame) and we gave one of our gorgeous knomo ‘Rosa’ laptop work bags as a raffle prize to help raise money for the Kidscape charity. The night was a huge success and all the winners were truly deserving – well done all!

Everyone’s favourite office manager is back: cue Christina Hendricks, aka Joan, sashaying across the floor, hips swinging, hair perfectly coiffed with that coral lipstick and amazing to-die-for hourglass figure. Of course this can only mean one thing; the return of Mad Men. Hurray!

Our crush doesn’t stop with Joan; we can’t wait to see the nipped-in waist, full skirt, and cigarette-on-waking of Betty Draper, or Peggy Olsen with her ambition, determination and newly acquired sense of style since series 2. Not forgetting the philandering, very dapper and dashingly handsome Don Draper; a man who pours many a delectable beverage but never seems to finish it. Creative Director at a lucrative ad agency, he is super talented, not only at his job but also at wooing the ladies. Season Four kicked off over the pond a couple of weeks ago and returned to our screens in the UK last week. The critically acclaimed show has won numerous awards including nine Emmys and four Golden Globes. 

We can’t wait to see how season 4 will play out. Bring on the glam!

The fash pack were out in force last night for Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out with special gigs, displays and celeb hosts making this very special night on the fashion calendar even more special.  It was veritable fashion feast in London’s West End as the streets were buzzing with live DJs, cocktail receptions and even fashion masterclasses to provide a fabulous atmosphere to shop and socialise in, while raising money for the fantastic charity Kids Company. We went along to sample the delights and do a bit of celeb-spotting but ended up getting some great fashion tips too…

In central London, Brown’s had some delicious treats for shoppers from the Mark Hix ‘Bike Shed Tuck shop’ in the form of raspberry jelly with lemon curd and Scotch eggs with caper mayonnaise. Reiss had mouth-watering cocktails by Aqua and Tanqueray Gin and make-overs by Bloww. In fact, numerous shops were pampering revellers with manicures, make-overs and styling tips including M&S with Lisa Snowden and fashion guru Caryn Franklin hosting, whilst brands like Rupert Sanderson hosted an awesome Bugsy Malone dance themed event and Daisy Lowe was at House of Fraser to launch the re-vamped label Biba. We spent a while at one of our fave department stores, Selfridges, and spotted the lovely Lily Allen who was promoting her new vintage boutique ‘Lucy in Disguise’ in Selfridge’s Wonder Room. The legendary Vidal Sassoon was also in Selfridges giving out his expert advice, looking super-stylish all the while.
