So Long LFW…until next season…

London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2010 is sadly coming to an end today with the final show from ‘A Child of the Jago’, the hot, new  mens streetwear brand based in East London. Although some might say the ethos is a touch pretentious; owned by Joseph Corre of Agent Provocateur fame, the brand is poised for great things with their subversive, unusual approach to design. And it doesnt stop there. This seasons shows wowed us in more ways than one, from the rocking catwalk music to the frow (front row) surprises…rule Britannia!

Hollywood descends on Londons’ Covent Garden for the Bafta Film Awards 2010

As one of the official BAFTA Film Awards goodie bag providers, we couldn’t help but blog about the BAFTA awards show that aired last night…great films, great style and great achievements, particularly for us Brits!

Audrey Tatou and Carey Mulligan

Once again, the looks from the red carpet this year were stunning. Highlights included Audrey Tatou in a lovely pink number by Lanvin, Kate Winslet in a beautiful Stella McCartney gown, and Romola Garai in a cute Erdem cocktail dress. Best in show, however, absolutely goes to Carey Mulligan for a gorgeous black and white floral gown by French couture label Vionnet. Finishing off her look was the most adorable yet classic blonde pixie crop that will definitely become spring’s most-wanted hair style. Topping the men’s list of best dressed was, of course, Mr. Tom Ford in his own label, Colin Firth, also in Tom Ford, and Nowhere Boy actor Aaron Johnson.

Enter the Dragon…Doug Richard chooses knomo Bungo

Doug 4

As a bunch of entrepreneurs, originally designing bags for entrepreneurs, we have long since been fans of the fantastic ‘Dragons Den’ TV show, and one of its original investors, Doug Richard. Starting out in Silicone Valley building up a number of tech businesses, Doug now lives in the UK and works with numerous businesses to help them grow. As a no-nonsense, straight-talker, Doug helped many entrepreneurs through the TV show, and has since developed the School for Startups, now helping thousands of entrepreneurs nationwide. The School for Startups offers a wide range of services including face to face and online advice, educational conferences and a series of networking events across the UK covering topics like how to start a business, to finding investors, design, service, marketing, managing and scale.

We met Doug through one of his fantastic talks and it turns out he is a knomo fan, choosing one of our Bungo Messenger bags as his day-to-day bag of choice. With a laptop and all his other tech-items to carry (Doug is big on techie gadgets as you can imagine!), a knomo is ideal for keeping his items ordered and safe from knocks or bumps. We are now working with Doug in other ways and have supported his recent School for Startups event on Albemarle St, London. (See pics below from the event) We also hosted a business card draw to win either a red Rubi or a black Bungo (just like Doug’s!) and the lucky winner, Russ Ennis, chose a Rubi for his wife – what a gent!
