REVIEW: Bombas & Parr – talk about being on Cloud 9!
Drinking alcohol out of a glass is just so old hat these days darling – breathing the good stuff in though – now that’s what we’re talking about! Alcohol clouds. The stuff of our dreams surely? Nope! Last week, knomo headed to Soho to check out Bompas and Parr’s latest crazy endeavour, which turned out to be…a room full of G & T!
Carefully mixed by the folks at Hendricks Gin, the cocktail was pumped out using a clever machine tucked away in the corner of the room. Donning white, forensic style zip-up suits, we headed into a misty cloud of sweet tasting alcohol, which was potent on the tongue. Upstairs, we could intoxicate ourselves further with the real stuff, but to be honest, it was more fun downstairs getting sticky! According to the friendly Bompas and Parr folk, the idea was formed after hearing rumours about a Spanish artist who was creating alcohol clouds as art. Dedicated to the cause, B&P found a company selling the correct gear (apparently the last event they catered for was a wedding!) and forged ahead. Genius we think, and definitely a fun, alternative night out!

Get out and see…Night at The Museum 2
Last week some of the knomo team were lucky enough to bagsy tickets to the premiere of Night at The Museum 2. We know what your thinking – surely Ben Stiller can’t carry on playing with live ancient artifacts enough for a sequel? Surely the plot line has been exhausted and a follow-up can’t be nearly as good? Well you would be wrong. NATM2 (as we like to call it) is a really fun trip down memory lane with some great new characters – our favourite being the feisty yet feminine Amelia Earhart who steals the show in her cute pilots outfit and show-shopping auburn curls.

App-solutely fabulous!
I’m sure you’ve all heard that Apple has now had 1 billion apps downloaded for the iPhone (we are responsible for a fair few!). And in the face of this veritable smorgasbord of silly gimmicks and party tricks alongside genuinely useful applications, it’s easy to get a tad bit overwhelmed. So we thought we’d share our favourites…
*Banner Free – perfect for boring meetings
Scroll a message of choice across your screen.
*Shazam – perfect for music lovers
Find out the name of any song just by playing a clip of it
*WorldNomads – perfect for those lost in translation
Has audio clips of useful sayings in different languages, like ‘Those aren’t my drugs’ in Mandarin. Good luck understanding the answers though!
*iHandyLevel – perfect for DIY ‘experts’ (cough)
