Bafta Fever…

OFFICIAL_GIFT_PROVIDER_NEG_RGB

January- arguably the most depressing month of the year. How was it for you? Here at the Knomo HQ, things weren’t so bad; our Sainsbury’s delivery man was only late 3 out of 4 times and we finally managed to complete the medium sudoku in the London Paper, impressive, giving ourselves a rest before we move into the big league; difficult.

There is a bit of a buzz going around in the office about the BAFTA’s and our involvement in it, (for the second year running we are supplying knomo products for the gift bags that go out to all the nominees) although wrapping 280 iPod boxes did take some time! All the girls in the office pitched in though, knomo is always good when it comes to team work. And after seeing Kate blub her way through 2 Golden Globe awards, it looks like it will be an interesting evening! Come on the Brits!

The Westbury – worth a look this Christmas

WestburyLogo_938b7960a6dfbf8381c1402e2de85a4bOne of my more painful memories of The Westbury is of myself, lurching over to a member of The Nextmen, asking if indeed he was part of the aforementioned duo, introducing myself, remarking how I’d checked them out on MySpace, before lurching off into the corner, presumably to hang my head in shame. Oh dear… Read more

Doodle of the day: Celebrating Magnum PI Day…

Magnum PI - 7th August 2009

The team went back to the 80’s and had a bit of a themed meeting to celebrate Magnum PI day…the Hawaiian shirts were classic, but thankfully no-one adopted the high-waisted shorts!

Get out into the crisp London air and visit Dazzle tomorrow…last day!

NationalTheatrepic

With all this cold weather to deal with, as a weekend treat, the knomo girls will be catching the last day of ‘Dazzle’ exhibition at the National Theatre on Saturday. Featuring the work of around 80 unique jewellery designers, Dazzle is a great opportunity to pick up a one-off piece. With expert advice on hand, often from the designers themselves, you’ll find incredible new talent alongside artists with long-established careers.

If you’re looking for unusual rings, check out Katzie Hughes. Working from Germany, Katzie’s striking, geometric pieces are crafted from gold, silver, gemstones and pearls. For something with a softer edge, choose Angie Boothroyd’s ‘Harlequin’ mini necklace, created from yellow and red gold with multi-coloured rose-cut tourmalines, or Nina Bukvic’s dreamy gold mesh earrings. The exhibition also takes a hit for the men with some fantastic new designs in cufflinks and rings. Choose Marianne Anderson for fantastic, decadent cufflinks made from oxidised silver and Shona Fidgett for her beautiful matt-finish silver tie pins. And, if you feel that way inclined this year, personal shoppers will be on hand to give fantastic advice on choosing the perfect engagement ring…Credit crunch? Pah.

‘Dazzle’ finishes on Saturday 10th January 2009. Prices range from £18 to £5000. http://www.dazzle-exhibitions.com/Dazzle/

A New Year requires a ’striking’ new hobby, with a bit of wholesome Americana on the side…

Afternoon_all_star_lanes

Ten pin bowling – bad lighting, dodgy velcro shoes and a gang of pimply youths hanging around for a shoot-up at Laserquest right? Nope. Well, not the All Star Lanes in Holborn anyway – this place is the stuff of The Big Lebowski and 1950s Americana . Having tested out the lanes last year for the knomo Christmas do’, with a miserable new year looming, it was only right to go back and lose oneself in the stylish, if a little sugary sweet, kitsch that is All Star Lanes.
